The two most obvious things to look for on your karat gold or platinum jewelry are the karat stamp (14 or 18 kt) together with the manufacturer’s trademark. There are exceptions to this rule, but it is a good starting point. There may be additional information present as well. This combined with the reputation of the local jeweler and the manufacturer’s written warranty and/or certificate of authenticity (which comes with every DiamondJourney.com purchase) are a very good indication that your purchase will last a lifetime.
We strongly urge you to visit your local DiamondJourney.com jeweler. Most service issues can be handled quickly and at a minimal cost. However, should you need to send something to DiamondJourney.com for service, you can either contact us via e-mail customerservice@diamondjourney.com, or call 1-800-DIAMOND.
Very often, we may have the item in stock in another color. However, if not, most items may be special ordered, and you will receive them, typically, in two to three weeks.
All the diamonds available on DiamondJourney.com are sourced directly through DeBeers’ Diamond Trading Company, the world’s largest source for rough diamonds. They are cut and polished in the most modern facilities by our sightholder/partner the Jasani Group. As products are added to the website, different items will have different diamond qualities depending on the category of product. Specifically, each item has a description of the diamonds it contains along with the total weight of diamonds.
Our primary factory is located in Mumbai, India, but we manufacture in China, Thailand, and the U.S.A. as well.
Every diamond in every piece of jewelry sold through DiamondJourney.com and its affiliated dealers can be traced to its legitimate source and are not involved in conflict and are in compliance with United Nations resolutions (the Kimberly Process). We further guarantee that these diamonds are conflict free, based on our personal knowledge, and the written guarantee provided by our DTC Sightholder affiliates.
The world’s illegitimate trade in gold is referred to as “dirty gold”. This is gold that is obtained illegally by unlicensed gold miners via environmentally unsound methods in areas typically off-limits to commercial endeavors. The majority of this “dirty gold” is sold in the Asia, and the Middle East where there is very little governmental control of jewelry manufacturing, and people in these areas buy it more as a hedge against inflation, rather than personal adornment. There is a small percentage of this sort of thing in the U.S., Europe, and other areas, but it is typically confined to smaller manufacturers and retailers who obtain their gold for manufacturing off the “street” rather than through banks and legitimate gold suppliers, which is the norm. All the gold used in the production of jewelry sold on and through DiamondJourney.com is obtained through commercial banks and other legitimate sources of gold that is mined in governmentally controlled areas in the U.S., South Africa, and Australia. For more information: go to the websites of The World Gold Council, MJSA, and the Jewelers’ Vigilance Committee.
